RPAS (DRONE) SURVEYING and services
CAPTURING REALITY WITH A REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT SYSTEM (RPAS)
The surveying and mapping industry has been revolutionized with the recent improvements in RPAS (Drone) technology. This new survey tool greatly increases efficiencies of large or small scale projects from the traditional time frame of days and weeks to hours and minutes. RPAS technology not only provides large amounts of accurate spatial data, but it also captures a virtual model that can be easily interpreted by anyone.
With this technology, paired with Benchmark's trained RPAS pilots and technologists, we are able deliver a an amazing product in a short amount of time. This product is used in various applications such as progress reporting, topographic mapping, project planning/estimating, volumes, areas, crop damage, water course monitoring, wetland restoration, 3D modeling, and other various engineering applications.
Below is a point cloud we captured of a very large gravel pit. Every pixel contains a northing, easting and elevation and is rendered with the same colour as the actual surface in which it was derived. Although this looks like reality, it is approximately 194 million points all clustered together to form a point cloud that represents what exists in reality.
